President Karzai Awarded State Medal to Afghan Theatre Actor

H.E. President Hamid karzai, Saturday at a meeting, awarded the Medal of Ghazi Mir Masjedi Khan to Abdul Qayoum Biset, a prominent figure in the theatre industry in Afghanistan. Separately, President Karzai also praised the two students of Shah Mahmoud Hotaki Afghan-Turk high school of Kandahar for wining two gold medals in the international physics competition convened on May 2009 in turkey and presented each of them 50000 Afs worth of cash. The President also awarded the Medal of Ghazi Mir Bacha Khan to the Director and one of the teachers of Afghan-Turk high school in Kandahar for their efforts in educating Afghan students.

Unknown men beheaded Moshtaq Ahmad, a student of Medical School of Kandahar University, on Friday at the Kandahar University compound. President Karzai termed the action un-Islamic and said that it had been the work of the enemies of education. The president also ordered the Kandahar Governor and the security forces of the province to track down the murderers and bring them to justice. President Karzai offered his condolences and sympathies to the family of Moshtaq Ahmad.
