H.E. President Karzai's demand for the immediate handover of Kandahar shootout perpetrators

Kabul, Arg. H.E. President Hamid Karzai has asked the immediate handover by the Coalition forces to the Afghan government of the private security guards involved in the killing of Kandahar province security officials.
Reports suggest that gun men of a private security company employed by Coalition Forces based in the Southern Afghanistan today attacked the prosecutor’s office of Kandahar province to release a prisoner, but after facing resistance opened fire on the police officials killing Kandahar Police Chief and Head of the Criminal Investigation Department along with three other police officers.
President Karzai strongly condemned this action, and directed the ministers of Defense and Interior, Director of Nation Security and the Attorney General to launch an investigation into the incident.
President Karzai said that such incidents negatively impact the state building process in Afghanistan and called upon Coalition forces to avoid actions that weaken the government.
