President Karzai Chairs Meeting to Discuss Security


President Hamid Karzai chaired Sunday a meeting to evaluate security situation in the country.

At the meeting participated by the Vice-presidents, Ministers of Interior, Defense and Foreign Affairs, Chief of the NDS, Head of the IDLG and officials from relevant agencies, briefings were given on the latest situation and the security measures in place.

President Karzai ordered a follow-up on the recent incident in Helmand province, where terrorists raided a business center, and praised the quick and effective action by the security forces in stamping out the enemy plot.

The President separately instructed a thorough investigation into the incident in Sayed Abad district of Wardak province, where four Afghan soldiers were killed in a clash between Afghan and International forces.
