President Karzai Receives US Congressional Delegation


H.E. President Hamid Karzai Tuesday afternoon met with a US congressional delegation led by Congressman Brad Ellsworth at the Gulkhana Palace.
During Tuesday’s meeting both sides discussed the joint war against terrorism, current developments in Afghanistan and the region and bilateral relations between the United Sates and Afghanistan.
The delegation members, who had also visited different parts of the city and Afghan national army posts, applauded the achievements of the government and said that United States would continue its commitment to Afghanistan.
President Karzai talked about the achievements of the Afghan people as well, and said, “The assistances provided by the US people and government had had a great role in the accesses made throughout the past seven years in Afghanistan.”

President Karzai also said that people’s cooperation was vital for the success of the war against terrorism and stressed the need for more solid efforts to win people’s hearts and minds.
