New UK Ambassador Presents Diplomatic Credentials

April 25, 2012 - President Karzai, in a formal ceremony on Wednesday, accepted the credentials of Richard Stagg, the new ambassador of the United Kingdom to Afghanistan. The ceremony, attended by Afghan Foreign Minister Rasoul and the Ministry’s Chief of Protocol was followed by a bilateral meeting, where issues of mutual interest for enhanced relations were discussed.

The President congratulated Ambassador Stagg on his new posting and thanked his country for all the civilian and military assistance it has been making to Afghanistan.

The new British Ambassador said he was glad to serve Afghanistan and assured the President of his utmost efforts to further expand the bilateral relations and his country’s engagement to help Afghanistan.
