President Hamid Karzai Accepts Diplomatic Credentials of New Iranian Ambassador

April 26, 2012- President Hamid Karzai received at a formal ceremony the diplomatic credentials of Abu Fazel Zohrawand, new Iranian Ambassador to Afghanistan.
The ceremony was followed by a bilateral meeting where the two sides discussed how to enhance Afghan-Iran relations in different areas.
Describing Republic of Iran a historic friend with whom Afghanistan enjoys shared cultural, religious and linguistic values; President Karzai thanked Iran for its assistance and support to Afghanistan during the past years.
The new Iranian Ambassador pledged to make every effort in further expanding the bilateral relations between the two neighboring countries during his diplomatic mission in Afghanistan.
The ceremony was also attended by Afghan Foreign Minister Zalmai Rasul and the Ministry’s Chief of Protocol, Hamid Sediq.
