President Karzai Left for Saudi Arabia to Attend Prince Nayef’s Funeral

June 17, 2012 -President Hamid Karzai left Kabul this afternoon for Mecca, Saudi Arabia to take part in the funeral processions for Crown Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz, who passed away on Saturday.
The processions are expected to be participated by leaders from some Muslim countries and will be held after sunset prayers in Masjid ul Haram on Sunday in the city of Mecca.
President Karzai will attend the funeral and will personally express the deep and heartfelt condolences of the people of Afghanistan to King Abdullah and the royal family.
Crown Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz, who was also the Interior Minister died on Saturday at the age of 79 in the Swiss city of Geneva, where he was receiving medical treatment.
