President Karzai Congratulates Afghanistan’s Victory in London Olympics

August 10, 2012 - President Hamid Karzai called Afghanistan's team in London on Friday to congratulate Rohullah Nikpah and all his other accompanying teammates on Nikpa’s victory in 2012 Olympics.
Nikpa won a Taekwondo Bronze Medal on Thursday in the Olympics by defeating his rivals from Poland, Central Africa and Britain but losing one match.
Congratulating the people of Afghanistan on the victory, President Karzai said, "Afghan athletes have shown in recent years that they are not less talented than athletes of other countries and with hard work, they can hoist the flag of Afghanistan in stadiums across the world,"
The President wished success for Nesar Ahmad Bahavi , another Afghan Taekwondo player scheduled to compete with his rivals on Friday.
