President Karzai Orders Probe into Civilian Deaths in Wardak

H.E. Hamid Karzai, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan has ordered an investigation into claims of civilian casualties resulted by a NATO operation in Chak district of Wardak Province.

Initial reports indicate that during a night raid by NATO in Chak district in Wardak province, three members of a former MP family were killed and two more were taken away.

The operation was carried out in Mumdo village around 12 midnight that killed a man and his two young daughters.

The President was saddened to hear the report and tasked a team to investigate the incident by visiting the area and report back on the findings.

President Karzai expressed his condolences to the family of the victims.
