Office of the President of Afghanistan Joins Facebook, Twitter and Youtube

November 23, 2011- Through this, we would like to inform everyone that the Office of the President of Afghanistan has joined the popular social network sites of Facebook, Twitter and the Youtube.

The Office of the President created its accounts and added the features to its Web page, www.president.gov.af.

The sites contain information on the President’s activities and presidential news and releases on his meetings with updated information on other topics as well.

Facebook is a social networking website intended to connect friends, family, and business associates. It is the largest of the networking sites, with an estimated users 800 million active users. (Our facebook link: http://www.facebook.com/pages/ARG-%D8%A7%D8%B1%DA%AF/204629649613285?ref=tn_tnmn)

Twitter is an online social networking and micro blogging service that enables its users to send and read text-based posts of up to 140 characters, informally known as "tweets" with over 300 million users as of 2011.(our twitter link: http://twitter.com/#!/ARG_AFG)

YouTube is a video-sharing website on which users can upload, view and share videos. (you tube: http://www.youtube.com/user/ARG1880 )

The new accounts can provide for users to have quicker access to news and press releases issued by the Office of the Spokesperson to the President. Comments and suggestions are most welcome.
