Afghanistan, Germany to Sign Strategic Partnership Document before Chicago Conference

April 22, 2012- President Hamid Karzai met Michael Koch, German Special Envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan to discuss continued bilateral cooperation and the Afghan-German strategic partnership.
During the meeting held in the Presidential Palace Sunday evening, President Karzai thanked for Germany’s support and assistance provided for the people and government of Afghanistan in various fields in the past years and added that Germany is a historical friend of Afghanistan which had helped the Afghan people in difficult times and had not left Afghanistan alone in the past.
Stressing on the need for enhanced bilateral relationship, the two sides agreed to sign the Afghan-German strategic partnership document before Chicago Conference.
Michael Koch, German Special Envoy gave assurance to the President that as always, Germany would stand beside the Afghan people and would not leave Afghans alone beyond 2014.
