Jehadi Leaders’ Consultative Meeting Endorses Draft Afghan-US Strategic Partnership Agreement

25 April, 2012- Chaired by President Hamid Karzai, a consultative meeting was held with Jehadi leaders and national political figures in the Presidential Palace.

The participants at the meeting discussed the draft agreement on Afghanistan and US long term partnership that was recently finalized and initialed by the heads of the two negotiating delegations in Kabul and now ready for signature by the Presidents of the two countries.

After review, Jehadi leaders’ consultative meeting endorsed the draft strategic partnership agreement between Afghanistan and United States of America.

The meeting participants also underscored the provisions that affirm respect to the Afghan Constitution, national unity and the relationship between Afghanistan and the US as two independent and equal States.

Jehadi leaders further described as important the provisions on support for strengthening Afghan security forces, so that they could manage to independently defend their country.

The consultative meeting was attended by 2nd Vice-president, Speakers of both houses of Parliament, Hazrat Sebghatullah Mujadedi, Pir Sayed Ahmad Gilani, Abdurrab Rasul Sayaf, National Security Advisor, Prof. Nematullah Shahrani, Salahuddin Rabbani, Haji Mohammad Mohaqiq, Qeyamuddin Kashaf, Abdul Hadi Arghandiwal, Haji Deen Mohammad, Sayed Mansoor Naderi, Prof. Gul Rahman Qazi, Haji Suleman Yari and Arsala Rahmani.
