President Ghani arrives in Astana

The President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Ashraf Ghani arrived Saturday evening in Astana the capital of Kazakhstan, accompanied by a senior government delegation to attend the OIC Summit on Science and Technology.

President Ghani was received by Kazakh minister of education and science Erlan Sagadiev, Kabul-based Kazakh ambassador Omirtai Bitimov, deputy governor of Astana, Afghan Ambassador to Kazakhstan Qadam Shah Shaheem and a number of Afghan diplomats in Astana International Airport.

In addition to attending the OIC Summit on Science and Technology, the President is expected to hold meetings with heads of the member-states of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation.
