President Ghani condemns explosion in Russia

Arg, Kabul: President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Ashraf Ghani was informed of and saddened by a deadly explosion in St Petersburg city of Russia, during his official visit to Australia.

President Ghani strongly condemned the explosion on metro train in Russian city of St Petersburg which left dozens of Russian citizens dead and wounded.

While condemning the attack, President Ghani said, “Seeing that our compatriots have been victims of such terrorist attacks for several years, we more than anyone else can feel the pain of victims of this explosion.”

The President reiterated that terrorism and extremism are a grave threat for the region, world and entire humanity. He said that terrorists abide by no religion or law but create dread and terror among the people by committing anti-humanity crimes.

President Ghani once again stressed on earnest and collective counter-terrorism and extremism efforts without any distinction of good and bad terrorism.

On behalf of the Government and people of Afghanistan, President Ghani offers his condolences to the people and government of Russia.
