Washington DC – H.E Hamid Karzai, president of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan strongly condemns the killing of Safia Amajan, the provincial Director of the Ministery of Women Affairs for Kandahar .  

President Karzai in his reaction to the incident said: “The enemies of Afghanistan are trying to kill those people who are working for the peace and prosperity of Afghanistan .  The enemies of Afghanistan must understand that we have millions of people like Mrs. Safia Amajan who will continue to serve this great nation.”

 "I am deeply saddened by this crime and I strongly condemn the killing of Mrs. Safia Amajan."  

The President urged the relevant authorities to investigate the crime and to bring the culprits to justice as soon as possible. The President also presents his heartfelt condolences to the family and relatives of Safia Amajan.
