Presidential Palace, Kabul: The Taliban continues to perpetrate heinous crimes and take responsibility for them. They attempted to target a gathering near a police training facility in the first district of Charikar city, Parwan, where an election campaign rally was underway, the second Taliban suicide attack took place in Kabul on a main street that took many innocent lives.
President Ashraf Ghani vehemently condemned these barbaric and inhumane crimes. He said the Afghan nation, particularly the brave people of Parwan, have consistently defied all odds to defend their freedom, democratic values and the republic and will never let the enemies achieve their heinous goals.
“The escalation of terrorist attacks by the Taliban and their emphasis on killing the Afghan people have failed the Taliban’s talks with the United States,” the president said. By continuing their crimes, the Taliban have once again proven that they have no will and desire for peace and stability in Afghanistan and that all their actions and what they say are nothing but deceit.
President Ghani termed Taliban the main enemies of “Our Republic” and reiterated that a nationwide presidential election will take place and the Afghan people will head to the polls and determine their political destiny by themselves.
The president conveyed his deepest condolence and sympathies to the martyrs of the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of those wounded.
