The President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Ashraf Ghani received the administrative delegation of Wolesi Jirga, Saturday evening, Presidential Palace.
Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah also attended the meeting. On the protesters’ tents that have been pitched in Kabul, the delegation remarked that the Constitution has granted every citizen the right to protest but the tents that have been set up by the protesters, have caused much inconvenience to the people, emphasizing an immediate solution to the problem.
The delegation said that they are supporting the National Unity Government to implement the Constitution.
The President said that it is the right of the citizens to organize a demonstration under the Constitution but blocking the roads and creating inconvenience to the people are not acceptable.
President Ghani further said that in the past few days he had meetings with different strata of the community where these people aired their grievances about the blockade of roads and the tents that have been erected on these roads. He added that the business community has also been financially affected.
The delegation said that representatives of Kabul province in Wolesi Jirga and members of the provincial council are set to meet the protesters to address the problem.
