Government leadership holds extraordinary security meeting in Bamiyan

President Ashraf Ghani at the top of a high-ranking delegation paid a visit to Bamiyan this morning to review the general condition of the province.

During the visit, President Ghani was accompanied by first and second vice-presidents, the national security advisor and a number of other senior government officials. 

The president chaired an extraordinary security meeting to review the general security status of the country, where the government leadership discussed security plans and operations, repelling enemy’s threats as well as existing capabilities and challenges of the defense and security entities.

The defense and security authorities presented their reports mainly on deployment of forces and called for promotion of governance and better service delivery in districtan

President Ghani stressed on priorities in defense and security sector and said stern attention needs to be paid for protecting people, ensuring the security of development projects, and implementation of development and reform plans at defense and security entities. The president underscored the need for tightening security on highways, preventing the enemies extortions, and merit-based changes and replacements in provincial police headquarters. He added that those defense and security officers who have shown competence should be commended.
