President Ghani chairs National Security Council Meeting

President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Ashraf Ghani presided over a meeting of the National Security Council, Thursday, Presidential Palace.

Ministers of the defense and security sectors updated the participants about the security situation of Helmand, Uruzgan, Kunduz, Farah, Baghlan, Faryab and Kunar provinces. They also praised the valor and capacity of the National Defense and Security Forces in fighting the enemies. The Council issued necessary instructions on removing security threats.

The council rendered it necessary that the effective and pivotal efforts of the National Defense and Security Forces should be multiplied in order to foil the security and terrorist threats posed by the enemies. Necessary directions were given on implementation of well-structured and systematic plans at the strategic and tactical levels which will resultantly foster coordination among the relevant entities and gain confidence of the public.

Also, the council approved procedure of registration of undocumented vehicles and that the vehicle owners should go through the biometric system, providing necessary directions to the concerned institutions.

At the end, the Council assigned ministry of interior to prepare a notice on vehicle registration, the biometric system, clearance of custom duties of undocumented vehicles and take measures in accordance with the plan of undocumented vehicles registration.
