President Ghani chairs National Security Council meeting

President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Ashraf Ghani presided over the meeting of the National Security Council today in Arg.

In this meeting ministers of defense and security sector briefed the participants on the security situation in the country, especially in Helmand, Uruzgan, Nangarhar, Kunar, Badakhshan, Farah, Baghlan and Kunduz provinces. Commending the brave efforts of the National Security and Defense Forces, the meeting reviewed the security threats and issued necessary instructions to remove the threats.

The National Security Council commended the sacrifices and successes of the brave Security and Defense Forces and issued necessary instructions to the Defense and Security Forces on ways to counter and eliminate terrorists.

At the end of the meeting, the National Security Council fully reviewed the priorities of the security and defense agencies for the winter campaign, and issued necessary instructions to the concerned authorities on effective implementation of these priorities.
