The meeting of the national security council began by discussing the situation in the region and was decided that Afghan government’s official position in regards to the situation in Yemen be determined through consultations with the religious scholars as well as with the political and jihad leaders.
The meeting later heard a briefing by Mawlawi Baloch, the chairman of the commission to investigate Farkhunda’s death on their findings, which would also be shared publicly on Thursday.
The meeting instructed the ministry of Interior and the National Directorate of Security to detain the remaining criminals still at large. It also instructed the attorney general office to process the cases at the soonest.
The meeting decided that the government needed to take all required actions in providing security to and restitute the family’s prestige. The meeting also took up the issue of naming the street in front of the Mosque after Farkhunda where people already named as “ Shahid Farkhunda Str.” The Meeting decided that the city mayor office be officially informed of the change in name.
Elsewhere in the meeting, security agencies briefed the participants on the 31 persons abducted by the terrorists. It was decided that a single agency spearhead the efforts and coordination in tracking and releasing the Afghans still kept in hiding.
