President Ghani chairs National Security Council Meeting President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Ashraf Ghani presided over the National Security Council meeting at the Presidential Palace, Monday evening.
The Council approved four-year development plan of the Afghan Security and Defense Forces after discussion. Ministers of the security and defense sectors briefed the Council on security situation across the country, particularly of Helmand, Nangarhar, Uruzgan, Farah, Kandahar, Ghor, Faryab, Badghis, and Kunduz provinces.
The Council commended focused efforts of the brave Afghan forces in eliminating security threats.The Council also issued necessary instructions to the relevant institutions for improving security.
At the end, the Council was briefed on the security situation of Kabul City and its districts. The Council, upon evaluation of the threats and identification of causes that can deteriorate security, issued directives.
