President Ghani accepts credentials of New Chinese Ambassador to Kabul

President Ashraf Ghani accepted the credential letter of Wang Yu, the newly-appointed ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Afghanistan.

The President while welcoming Ambassador Yu, hoped that he will play an important role to strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries and people. Both sides also discussed expanding economic and trade cooperation, regional trade and development and peace and stability in the region.

The president also stressed that Afghanistan and China have enjoyed more than fifty years of friendly relationship, which must be consolidated and further strengthened.

President Ghani described China, a leading country in growth and economy in the region, and an important partner to the regional development that Afghanistan is keen to be a part of.

Mr. Wang Yu expressed willingness to closely work with the Afghan government to strengthening ties and expand cooperation, bring the two countries closer.
