President Ghani chairs senior security officials meeting

The President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Ashraf Ghani presided at a meeting of the senior security officials, Monday evening, Presidential Palace.

The President lauded the ANDSF for their positive and effective accomplishments and the heavy casualties they had inflicted on the enemies in the past seven months. He also issued necessary directives to the security sector for obliterating the presence of the enemy during the winter.

Security situation of Faryab, Ghor, Jawzjan, Baghlan, Ghazni, Kabul, Paktia and Farah provinces was assessed. Instructions were given to officials of the security sector on improving security in the mentioned provinces.

The President commended the security officials of Maidan Wardak province for thwarting the smuggling of a 2800-year old ancient book.

President Ghani also honored Major Kabir Ahmad Barmak, Captain Mayel Aqa, First lieutenant Habibullah, Major Mohammad Asil and Major Rayes Khan of Police Department 5 of Kabul City with state medals for spotting down a vehicle replete with heavy explosives in the vicinity of their duty, arresting the suicide bomber who was orchestrating a devastating terror attack in the city and consequently foiling a big terror plan.
