The President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Ashraf Ghani received elders of Mirza Olang village Monday evening, Presidential Palace where they aired their demands and recommendations.
Speaking on behalf of the rest, Sayed Ahmad Jawadi said that all Afghans, particularly inhabitants of Mirza Olang aspire to pursue security across the country. He praised the President for his focus on cleansing Mirza Olang of the enemy’s presence.
A set of specific recommendations on land distribution, Haj quota and academic scholarships to the martyrs’ families and provision of initial aid to the inhabitants of Mirza Olang was put forth.
President Ghani said, “The incident in Mirza Olang was an inhumane crime. I conveyed your voice to the UN General Assembly. Your pain is shared by the entire humanity and the Afghan nation.”
The president informed them of the measures taken to improve security in the Northern provinces, particularly Sar-e Pol. He instructed the Independent Land Authority to provide Mirza Olang martyrs’ families with lands.
President Ghani directed the National Disaster Management Authority to deliver emergency aid packages to the affected families to help them reconstruct their houses. He ordered the Administrative Office of the President to allot a specific Haj quota for the 49 martyrs’ families of Mirza Olang.
The president assigned the Ministry of Higher Education to provide educational opportunities to the deprived youth there.
