President Ghani receives Special envoy of China on Afghan affairs

The President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Ashraf Ghani received the special envoy of Chinese foreign ministry on the Afghan Affairs Deng Xijun, Monday morning, Presidential Palace.

Ambassador Deng conveyed greetings of the president of the People’s Republic of China to President Ghani. Mr. Deng also extended an official invitation to the President for participation in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

The President asked Mr. Deng to convey his greetings to President Xi Jinping, thanking them for their invitation of participation in the SCO.

The two sides conversed about topics of regional concern such as regional connectivity, development and economic projects. They also discussed building peace and stability in Afghanistan and the region.

Mr. Deng said that China is intending to hold Afghanistan-China-Pakistan trilateral ministerial dialogue which will focus on regional topics such as peace, stability and economic cooperation, hoping that Afghanistan will attend the trilateral practical cooperation dialogue.

Commenting on the meeting of trilateral practical cooperation dialogue, President Ghani said that the mentioned trilateral dialogue is conducive to stimulating economic cooperation and strengthening stability in the region, affirming that Afghanistan will participate in the dialogue.
