President Ghani Accepts Diplomatic Credentials of New Australian Ambassador

Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, during an official ceremony accepted diplomatic credentials of Matt Anderson, the new Australian Ambassador to Afghanistan.

The ceremony that took place in Arg, was followed by a meeting where Ambassador Anderson reiterated his country’s enduring support to Afghanistan and said that Australia gives special attention to Afghanistan.

The ambassador pledged that during his terms of office he would do his best to cement Afghan-Australian ties.

On behalf of the government and people of Afghanistan, President Ghani commended the Australian troops for the sacrifices they have made in Afghanistan, and said that Australia’s cooperation has been vital to Afghanistan.

President Ghani sought further expansion and strengthening of relations between the two governments and nations.
