President Ghani appoints a delegation to probe incident near Afghanistan-Iran Border

President Ashraf Ghani issued a decree and assigned a delegation, led by Commander-in-Chief Military Inspector Mohammad Hamid Tahmasi, to thoroughly investigate the incident near Afghanistan-Iran Border that resulted in the killing of a number of Afghan citizens/migrants.

The delegation is composed of representatives from the Lower House; ministries of Interior, Defense, Foreign Affairs, Refugees and Repatriation; National Directorate of Security; Herat Governor Office and Provincial Council, and 207th Zafar Army Corps.

Based on the decree, the assigned delegation is required to comprehensively probe the incident in close cooperation with Herat Governor and present its findings and report to the President of Afghanistan through Office of the National Security Council.
