President Ashraf Ghani held a farewell meeting with Vinay Kumar, the outgoing Ambassador of India to Kabul today at the Presidential Palace.
Ambassador Kumar expressed gratitude to President Ghani and his government for their efforts in further deepening Afghanistan-India relations and elucidated India’s endeavours to support a thriving Afghanistan with a government grounded on democratic principles and values.
President Ghani extended gratitude to Ambassador Vinay Kumar for successful accomplishment of his mission in Afghanistan and his immense efforts to expand and consolidate mutual ties between Afghanistan and India.
He added that India’s assistance to Afghanistan in each and every area is a demonstration of the cordial and deep-rooted ties between the two countries.
The president also praised India’s principled position with regard to Afghanistan’s elections and values of the Republic, stressing that both countries made immense efforts to ensure stability in Afghanistan, economic cooperation and regional connectivity.
