President Ghani chairs the Cabinet meeting

President Ashraf Ghani presided over the cabinet meeting today at the Presidential Palace, in which provincial governors were also connected via VTC.
While welcoming the new governor of Kandahar to the cabinet meeting, President Ghani praised the establishment of History Week by the ministry of Information and Culture.
President instructed the ministry of information and culture along with other relevant organizations to hold a ceremony in honor of Imam Bukhari and Imam Termizi when celebrating the history week of the year 1400.
President Ghani congratulated Rashid Khan, Afghan Cricket star, for being declared as International Cricket Council (ICC) Men’s T20I Player of the Decade.
President Ghani expressed gratitude to the US Congress for approving the continuation of its assistance to Afghanistan in the defense and security sectors, while stressing the structural reforms in the ministries of Defense and Interior for the effective use of its assistance.
Referring to the budget for the fiscal year 1400, President Ghani stressed that the executive power is mandated for budgetary issues, while parliament can either approve or reject the budget draft as a whole.
President Ghani expressed happiness over the registration of a Minaret of Ghor province as one of the cultural heritage monument of the Islamic World.
Deputy Minister of Policy and Planning of Public Health ministry then presented a report on the epidemiological situation of Covid-19 in Afghanistan.
The cabinet called on the citizens to use masks and observe social distance in order to prevent the second wave of Coronavirus in the country.
