President Ashraf Ghani met with heads and members of the Lower House commissions of the telecommunications and transport, Kuchis, natural resources and environment this afternoon at the Presidential Palace.
The commission members declared support for the Republic and preservation of the gains of the past 19 years, and the Afghan Defense and Security forces and expressed optimism that the Afghan people would play a determinant role in the peace process and make the ultimate decision.
They attached great importance to further enhancing coordination between the executive and legislative branches of the government as well as better governance, water and land management, mining, environmental protection, and addressing the needs of nomads.
President Ashraf Ghani said investment on construction of hydropower dams is a government’s top priority and emphasized on providing necessary facilities for extraction of mineral resources in accordance with international standards while protecting the environment.
President Ghani praised the commissions’ stance on supporting ANDSF and preserving the achievements of the last nineteen years and termed local governance reforms an important factor for improving service delivery.
