Presidential Palace, Kabul: President Ashraf Ghani condemned in the strongest terms the terrorist attack on women judges this morning in Kabul that left two judges martyred and wounded two others.
President Ghani said attack on any Afghan citizen, women, children, Ulama, influential figures is an attack on our honor and dignity.
The President said the Taliban and other terrorist groups’ continued assassinations and acts of violence against our defenseless citizens are in contradiction with Islamic teachings and the spirits of peace.
President Ashraf Ghani stressed that protraction of this illegitimate war and the spike in violence is a clear demonstration of hostility against the Afghan people and can jeopardize the efforts for lasting peace.
President Ghani reiterated that coercion, terror, intimidation and criminality are not the solutions, adding that it further deepens the ongoing crisis and escalates the conflict. The President called on the Taliban to agree to a permanent ceasefire and demonstrate their will for peace in practice.
President Ashraf Ghani ordered the relevant authorities to arrest the perpetrators and bring them to justice. He expressed his profound sympathies to families of the deceased and wished speedy recovery for those who are wounded.
