Arg, Kabul: Article 110 of the Constitution of Afghanistan explicitly enumerates that Loya Jirga (The Grand Assembly) is the supreme and highest manifestation of the will of the Afghan people. The Constitution unequivocally lays down all the circumstances which deem the convening of Loya Jirga necessary.
Some individuals and groups have recently disseminated gossips regarding the convening of Loya Jirga, having sent their people to some provinces. These individuals and people are not representatives of the Government and the Afghan nation is not compelled to be part of their consultations and meetings.
This process stands in contradiction to the Afghan Constitution and the enacted laws, having no validation. Employees of the Government are directed to refrain from attending all those processes which are not in compliance with the Constitution.
